An embedded PC based on a consumer STPC processor. It uses a BIOS created by DDS elettronica, and thanks to this platform it can be modified by the client to suit their particular application. It can work with all x86 compatible operating systems such as Windows CE, Windows NT, Linux, VX Works etc.

The microprocessor comprises of a standard fifth generation x86 core, with 64bit bus, 64bit DRAM controller, SVGA controller, video out, video input, PCI bus, ISA bus, IDE controller, DMA controller and an integrated Interrupt controller.

In an Industrial environment, peripherals must have charateristics the allow them to function correctly, in particular durability and resistance to dust and humidity, but they must also be user friendly.

DDS elettronica have developed a membrane keyboard which connects to a ps/2 port, as well as a capacitive keyboard able to work under 7cm of glass or  wood. As for mice, DDS have developed a pressure sensitive directional pad with serial output, as well as a tough touch pad similar to that found on a laptop. Some examples are shown in the pictures.
